What it is
Twitter Space Downloader is a small, free web tool for saving a recorded X (Twitter) Space as a normal MP3 audio file. Paste the link to a Space that has already ended and is still available as a recording, and it converts the audio into a file you can download directly — no app install, browser extension, or account required on either end.
Why it exists
X Spaces are ephemeral by design: once a Space ends, the recording lives inside the X app with no first-party way to pull the audio out and keep it as a normal file. Anyone who wants to relisten offline, drop a conversation into a podcast app, or archive something they were part of is stuck replaying it inside the app every time.
I maintain a separate video downloader for regular X (Twitter) video and GIF clips, and kept getting the same question from people using it: "does this work for Spaces too?" It didn't, because a Space recording is a different kind of media with its own delivery mechanism — so this tool exists specifically to handle that case instead of bolting audio support onto an already-focused video tool.
How it works, from the user's side
- Copy the link to a finished (recorded) X Space.
- Paste it into the tool.
- Wait a short while for processing.
- Download the resulting MP3.
Limitations
- Only works on Spaces that have already ended and are still available as a recording — a Space that is currently live has no finished audio to fetch yet.
- Output is audio only (MP3), not video, since a Space is an audio-only format on X.
